Følgeplanter og skadedyr i sukkerroer

Conclusion

• A significant reduction) in trips-damage was observed at one site when companion plants (barley) were grown between sugar beets. In remaining Danish and Swedish trials, insects occurred in too low numbers to conclude anything. Trials in other countries (COBRI-co-work) showed a clear reduction in aphid numbers at sites with severe attack.
• In the trials, companion plants (barley) was often destroyed too late and caused yield reductions in sugar beet. Barley seemed to have an effect on aphid occurrence within the first weeks and may probably be destroyed earlier.
