Conclusion

Leaf disease monitoring has been conducted on 17 sites throughout the main growing area. Incidence and development of leaf diseases have weekly been assessed and recorded for selected varieties. The results are used for recommendations to growers and will serve as documentation for the development of fungal sugar beet disease. Dominating leaf diseases have in 2017 been rust and ramularia leaf plot. First warning for possible need of first application, if symptoms could be observed, has been sent out first week of August.
