Conclusion

• The survey in 2022 is the first attempt to recommend optimal fertilizer-application based on soil type.
• In the present trial, soil type influenced sugar beet growth in the beginning of the growing season, but there was no significant effect of soil type on sugar yield. There was a high background level of N in the studied field, so general conclusion cannot for the whole sugar beet growing area is not possible.
• NDVI-measurements gave more clear results than yield measurements and may be useful to quantify fertilizer and soil type effects during the growing season.
